Cedar Bark Weaving Workshop with MENEŦIYE

Tickets are pay-what-you-can
Learn the traditional art of cedar bark weaving with W̱SÁNEĆ weaver and teacher MENEŦIYE. Participants will leave the full-day workshop with a completed woven cedar headband. All materials are included.
Presented by the Campbell Bay Music Festival Society and the Mayne Conservancy, with support from the British Columbia Arts Council.
XWII XWA Atheana Picha Art Show

Welcome to the third annual Salish art exhibit at the Mayne Island Library! This show highlights the work of multidisciplinary artist Atheana Picha in serigraph, intaglio print, digital drawing, weaving, and painting on hide and on wood. The exhibit is viewable during all normal library hours.

SENĆOŦEN Language Learners on SḴŦAḴ / Mayne Island
January 18 - May 24 2025
$120, 8 sessions
An 8-session language learning series, with alternating sessions in person and on Zoom, with Immersion Program Facilitator SX̱EDŦELISIYE, and SENĆOŦEN Youth Ambassadors from W̱SÁNEĆ Secondary School. Language instruction will include the basics of the SENĆOŦEN alphabet and its sounds, some key expressions and concepts (e.g. ṮEṮÁĆES, ĆELÁṈEN, and important place names and their meaning (SḴŦAḴ, ÁLEṈEN).
